An illegal dumping camera gives councils, Litter Prevention Officers, facilities managers, and private landowners a way to watch a known dumping hotspot without stationing anyone on site.
These covert units sit in place for weeks at a time, can send motion-triggered alerts when activity is detected, and capture time-stamped photo and video evidence you can act on.
Whether you're managing a bushland reserve, an industrial car park, or a rural boundary where furniture and building waste keep turning up, our range of illegal dumping surveillance cameras is built to run unattended, stay hidden, and get you proof.

Choosing The Right Unit
What Makes a Good Illegal Dumping Camera
Not every trail camera is suited to catching dumpers. A reliable illegal dumping camera needs a specific mix of features. Covert, no-glow infrared means offenders don't see a flash and don't know they're on camera, so there's less chance of the unit being spotted or stolen.
For hotspots without power or Wi-Fi, compatible 4G trail cameras can send motion-triggered photos or alerts directly to your phone, provided there is mobile coverage. Solar trail cameras keep running through long, unmanned deployments in remote or hard-to-access sites. High resolution also improves your chances of capturing useful details, such as a number plate or identifiable features. And a weatherproof, lockable enclosure, like our security boxes, keeps the camera protected and working throughout the deployment.
Put together, it’s a setup that's discreet, quality-built, and priced lower than most other Australian retailers, without cutting corners on performance.
In Use Across Australia
How Councils and Landowners Catch Dumpers
Local governments across NSW already use this approach. Port Macquarie-Hastings Council and the NSW EPA are among the authorities running Pro's Choice cameras at known dumping sites, and Victorian councils operate similar covert surveillance programs at their own hotspots.
A hidden camera to catch illegal dumping goes up at a problem site, and time-stamped footage gives Litter Prevention Officers and rangers something solid to work from when investigating a report or considering a fine.
Footage alone doesn't guarantee a prosecution or fine outcome, but it gives councils a far stronger starting point than a report with no evidence attached.
The same setup works just as well off government land. Private landowners dealing with a gate that keeps collecting rubbish, and commercial sites facing after-hours dumping in a car park or loading area, use the same covert cameras for the same reason.

What's the best camera to catch illegal dumping?
The most reliable option is a covert, no-glow infrared camera with 4G alerts and solar power, since it stays hidden and sends you a photo the moment someone dumps. For sites near mains power, a wired law enforcement camera can offer even higher resolution.
Can the footage be used as evidence or to issue fines?
It can, provided the camera is set up correctly and the footage clearly shows the incident. It's not a guarantee of a fine or prosecution, and how it's used depends on your council's own enforcement process, so check with your compliance team before relying on it.
Do these cameras work where there's no power or internet?
Yes. A 4G camera with a solar panel runs on battery and solar and sends alerts over the mobile network, so it doesn't need mains power or Wi-Fi. That's what makes it suited to bushland, reserves, and remote boundary sites.
Are the cameras covert?
Many illegal dumping surveillance cameras are available with no-glow infrared and compact or camouflaged housings, helping them operate without producing a visible flash. Most fit inside a locking security box for extra protection against tampering or theft, and every camera is backed by our money-back guarantee and support team if you need help matching one to your site.
